October Topics & Descriptions:
October 14 – Pain & Inflammation (with Swathi Rao, PA-C and Amy Goodpaster, NP)
Chronic pain and inflammation often signal deeper imbalances in the body. Rather than masking symptoms, functional medicine works to identify and address the root causes. This session will highlight holistic tools for managing pain, and practical strategies to calm inflammation and promote long-term healing.
October 21 – Gut Health: The Foundation of Wellness (with Swathi Rao, PA-C)
Your gut is central to digestion, immunity, and even mood regulation. In this class, we’ll explore how functional medicine approaches gut health by looking at nutrition, lifestyle, and the microbiome. You’ll also learn how targeted supplements—like probiotics, digestive enzymes, and nutrients that heal the gut lining-can support balance, reduce symptoms, and improve overall wellness.
October 28 – Preventing & Managing Illness (with Swathi Rao, PA-C)
Cold and flu season doesn’t have to take you down. In this class, we’ll share functional medicine strategies to help you stay well—like optimizing nutrition, sleep, stress management, and using immune-supportive supplements. We’ll also discuss what to do if you do get sick, from targeted supplements that support faster recovery to IV therapies that provide rapid hydration and nutrients, helping your body bounce back more quickly.

Western medicine often views autoimmune disease as chronic and incurable, with the main focus on managing symptoms. In a functional medicine view, autoimmunity is an immune system issue that has specific root causes. Join Swathi Rao, PA-C as we discuss Thyroid health and ways that you can help manage your thyroid in the kitchen!
November 4 – Cooking for One or Two: Healthy, Simple, and Affordable with Swathi Rao, PA-C
When you’re cooking for just one or two, it can feel easier to grab takeout than to make a meal at home. This class will show you how to change that. Learn how to plan and portion meals that are healthy, budget-friendly, and quick to prepare – without endless leftovers or wasted ingredients. You’ll leave with practical tips, recipes, and the confidence that cooking for yourself (or you and a partner) can be both simple and enjoyable.
